Observational drawing increases your grey matter

I couldn’t help but think of The Thousand Languages of Children when I read this study. Many times in my own Reggio-inspired classrooms, or while observing in other ECE classrooms, I have watched young children attempt to draw what they see, not realizing that this is actually helping them enlarge the corresponding section of their brain. Next time I see this activity, I’m going to have to jump in and draw too!
